-->SUMMER<--

wow. this summer is almost over. it has been amazing.

SOS was just as fun as it always is. we helped so many people in Cincinnati and way too much fun doing it. we had block parties, free car washes, handed out waters, gave out free groceries, and it was so amazing to see.  lots of laughs too of course--you just can't get by without those.

Hilton Head, S.C. was a week to remember. Three of my best friends and i took a roadtrip and went to an island off the coast of S.C. we had our own villa overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. you can't even imagine the view we had. we saw a lot of the beach that week. we danced around our villa non-stop, made our own princess crowns, went swimming every day, reinacted the sinking of the titanic in the pool (i got to be rose--->and then the iceberg), walked on the beach (it was so pretty under the stars at 3 in the morning). it was our final farewell trip to two of the girls. rachel is moving to colombus on thursday, and alyssa already moved to North Carolina. there are just too many good byes going on right now.

Band Camp '06 was the best one yet. From dance parties in the U-Haul, to ultimate frisbee in the basement, to drum line movie nights, to twizzlers, to decorating our room, to dairy queen t-shirts, i will never forget it. heather is the best roommate ever. we had so much fun being the crazy girls at camp all week. i miss it.

And the last vacation of the summer (which i just got back from on saturday) was an amazing end to an amazing summer (which isn't really over yet). all of the kids got to bring friends, and we rented a house out on lake michigan. the view was so beautiful when you looked out over the lake. the beach stairs were pretty scary though--they went at like a 75 degree angle 104 steps straight down to the beach. my sister and her friend were running up and down them for excercise. yes they were insane---but we loved it. we had some crazy times pulling pranks on eachother, watching movies, eating fudge, playing guitar, swimming in the lake with all of our clothes on (planned?? not so much...), and digging our toes into the sand.

and now i'm working some more until school starts. SENIOR YEAR! i never thought it would come. but i'm so happy that it has. good bye summer.

weird...i haven't written in my xanga in about.....forever.

SCHOOL IS OVER!!!! 3 whole (well almost whole) months with no homework, tests, projects, forensics stuff, band (well a little band) and no sleep.  i am so excited to sleep. sleep is a wonderful thing.

well here are some major happenings:
*i'm center snare/ percussion captain for drumline next year
*i got a job a dairy queen (feel free to visit me...but i can only clean things and make blizzards so far)
*i got my nose pierced (and love it!)
*i turned 17 (which means i get to drive after midnight!)
*i get my braces off june 13th!!!!!(fiiiiiiiiinally!!!!!)

annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd i can't wait for this summer to be the best one yet. They seem to get better every year. I've got S.O.S. coming up at the end of june, Hilton Head, S.C. senior trip (even though i didn't just graduate....i'm technically a senior) in july, and band camp and some other vacation in august. it's going to be fun. i'll need to throw in a few bonfires, slip n' slides, trampolines, and ultimate frisbee games before the fun is complete though...
  HAPPY SUMMER!!!!!!!
i am going to go take a nap before work tonight.
good bye.

- stare at the sun

why does life have to be so hard?

Red moved away. she's in Marquette, and i miss her like crazy. I CAN'T WAIT FOR OUR ROADTRIP THIS SUMMER!!!!
lately i have just not been able to wait for the summer.  last summer was so great and i just wish everyone could go back to that. SOS, crazy midnight parties, miniature golf, bonfires at chelsea's, and trips to the water park-i really miss all of that. i hate that life has to keep going when all you want is for it to stay the same.
i just got back from a youth retreat in Colombus, OH last night. It was called OASIS and it was so amazing. there were great workshops, speakers, and songs. it was so fun. from seatbelt checks at 90mph, to doubleshot espressos in the back of the van, to crazy pictures, to cute little girls with HUGE glasses, all wrapped up in a 4 hr. long conversation on the way home-- i just want to go back.
life is so stressful.
being a junior completely sucks.
you have to take the ACT, apply to college, get good grades, do all of these clubs and activities you never wanted to do, and still find time to hang out with friends and do the same stuff you used to do.  haha and it funny because i just realized that this coming week is MEAP week, and everyone else gets to sleep in.
it's going to be a busy week. i still need to take private lessons for band, and that slip is due this friday.  i need to memorize my forensics speech and make visual aids for the tournament on saturday (and get out of band extravaganza rehearsal), and i am going CARAZY!!! but i know it's all going to be okay, and worth it. we'll see.

so president's weekend is amazing.  four days away from school. four days to goof off and do whatever you want...

kayla, christina, and i all kidnapped erin on friday morning (see picture of what that morning looked like above...) and took her out to breakfast at Mary T's. her hands and mouth were duct taped, she had some weird hat thing and her coat over her face so she couldn't see, we threw her in the back seat, and we hit her whenever she made a sound. now that's what friends are for. it was really funny because while we were driving there--we were all (minus erin...because she was preoccupied with her duct-tape..) happy and singing along to avril lavigne and i was drawing little hearts on the window.  everyone that passed us were probably thinking,"oh how cute i miss high school..." when they should've been thinking,
" i should probably call the cops or something, they're KIDNAPPERS."
we made erin wear a birthday crown and it was super fun.

later on friday i went over to RACHEL BODNAR's house and we made cupcakes and a sweet slideshow for lauren for her birthday. i decorated the cupcakes myself. they spelled out HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAUREN in colorful icing. needless to say...they were pretty tasty. (i'm not so sure that last sentence made any sense...but just go along with it...)
at lauren's party that night (spa party alert!) i got a massage and everyone was getting facials, and manicures, and eating sushi, and watching movies. it was amazing. i can't believe that lauren actaully thought of it herself and did all of that for us. she even had a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN.  i'm pretty sure heaven's going to look exactly like lauren's living room.

saturday i went to a 6 hr. ACT workshop with laura. we had to sit there and listen to a guy talk for siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiix hours. but i lived, and i'm betting (or hoping) that it'll help me when i finally do take the test. then last night laura and i went to see Pride and Prejudice. i love that movie. i really do.  after that we were just freaking out and talking about love and boys and valentines....it was really nice after ACT hell.

today was relaxed. i woke up early, went to church, came home, drank a frappucino (ahhhh it was delicious)-read, drove my sister somewhere, listened to lots and lots of coldplay, and now i'm on the computer. it was a really pretty sunset tonight by the way. you should've seen it.

AH IT'S FEBRUARY!
i don't know if i'll ever quite understand why someone decided to put that R after the B in February...but it's one of those things you just have to accept i suppose.

school is really fun. it's been the longest week ever. i haven't gotten much sleep, we've been getting a ridiculous amount of homework (so much it should be illegal...)and to top it off i was almost attacked by a bear when i visited andrea on tuesday at her work. (i'm not even going to try to explain that one...) i can't wait for the weekend.
saturday i'm hanging out with laura (helping her and her friends get ready for their homecoming), and saturday night is the night for the monthly get-together of Kayla, Erin, Christina, Hilary, Cara and me.

we may have a random birthday party this weekend too. who was the person that decided birthday parties could only be for specific people on their specific birthdays? I DON'T KNOW.
it's weird that certain things like that (and the R in febRuary) are just accepted and people don't try to break out of the mold....so what if i want to spell february like FEBUARY. no one is going to do anything about it.

2 days is just not long enough to be away from school.
and now...i need to go finish my homwork.
